Safety barrier replacement:
We’ll shortly be carrying out work to replace some sections of the safety barrier along the verge of the A303 westbound carriageway near Barton Stacey.
Work is currently scheduled to start on Monday 9 November and is expected to be completed on Friday 11 December 2020.
For the safety of our workforce and customers, narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place on the westbound carriageway for the full duration of the works.
In addition, we will need to close the A303 westbound carriageway from the A34 Bullington Cross to Barton Stacey overnight (9pm to 6am, Monday to Friday nights only).
During the closures, a signed diversion will direct traffic to exit at Bullington Cross, travel via the A30 to Stockbridge, then north on the A3057 towards Andover to re-join the A303. Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the sharp bend at Fullerton/The Mayfly pub to assist diverted traffic.
Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles on blue light calls only.
Please note that the works are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. We’ll advertise closures on yellow signs placed in advance alongside the A303.
I would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption you may experience during this work. If you have any questions, or if you would like to know about our work, please contact us on 0300 123 5000 or email info@highwaysengland.co.uk
Yours faithfully
